Storm Riders is a monthly black and white webcomic detailing the fantasy adventures of a tight-knit group who look for fame and fortune, and sometimes find both - along with plenty of trouble. This ragtag group of friends and family are willing to do anything - as long as they do it together. Follow their adventures here every month as they look for new challenges, while doing their best to stay one step ahead of rivals, enemies - and even some friends.
Captain and chief tactician of the Storm Riders. Formerly a highly placed officer in the legions of the Riparian Empire, a disgrace sent him from his homeland and into the life of a mercenary. Livius is strategic, pragmatic, and loyal, fostering a family environment among his team. His sword, Juramentum, is a famous weapon in his homeland but its full potential is rarely revealed as he travels the world.
Marcus
Marcus is the younger brother of Livius and the Storm Riders' specialist in stealth and subterfuge. Once a respected member of the Riparian Empire's assassins, the Sicarii, he fell from grace along with his brother. Marcus is sarcastic and cunning, but often short-sighted, preferring the blade to more subtle modes of negotiation.
Scipio
Scipio, like his cousins Livius and Marcus, was a warrior for the Riparian Empire - except he was one of the gladii,their elite swordsmen and duelists. Scipio is even-tempered, cool and calm, but can't resist adventure and swashbuckling trouble, nor the opportunity for romance, however short-lived.
Arrowleaf
An elf from the Summer Kingdom of Arcadia, Arrowleaf acts as something of a stand-in mother for the group, offering advice and leadership and scolding as each is required. She has traveled among humans for many years, and enjoys their company, even when they are challenging. She is renowned as an archer and marksman, and is fiercely protective of "her" humans.
Otto
A dwarf from Svartalgaard, Otto is an iron-gatherer - a dwarf sent out to find new ideas and techniques to bring back to his people. Among humans he discovered that he loves their food, booze, and women, although he hides his love of revelry behind a practical and curmudgeonly exterior. Otto often acts as second in command to Livius on account of his long battlefield experience.
Miri
A native of the far-off East, Miri is one of the Uduuri - a nomadic people whose women ride oxen and fight, while their men use horses and tend to the young. She and her twin sister are on a warrior pilgrimage to "notch their swords" - prove their worth in the world of the outsiders. Miri wears a fur hat that pays homage to Tiannu, She Who Rides the Ox, and is generally more calm than her sister.
Mari
Like her twin, Mari is one of the Uduuri on a warrior pilgriamge. Mari is more hot-headed and quick to anger - and love - than her sister, but just as capable with a sword. She wears the helmet of the Moon, paying respects to the goddess Kecha, who represents night and the end of life.
Alejandra
The newest Storm Rider, Alejandra hails from Baetica, a Riparian province that, through its alliance with the Tlatoani of Cuauhtic beyond the Wall of Steam, has become the center of the Empire. Reared as an Imperial Bruja, she is trained in the powerful magic of both kingdoms in fusion, and now is traveling the world to increase her expertise. She is young, hopeful and optimistic, but sometimes overeager and too willing to take chances to learn greater magic.
